Marlee Smith is a 17-year-old singer/songwriter from Western Pennsylvania. Marlee began singing at 4 years old, in the Children’s choir at church. She developed vocally through frequent solo, and trio performances with her sisters, for anyone willing to listen. At age 7, she began formal piano and voice instructions, adding the flute at 9. Since then, she has continued to explore other instruments, including guitar and ukelele.
Marlee's love for all things music has grown over the years. She has played and sang in many bands, choirs and school musical productions. In the school choir, Marlee strengthened her vocal abilities and control, reaching All-State status in her Sophomore and Junior year, as well as achieving All-East honors.
Throughout her life, Marlee’s love and faith in Jesus has shown through. She stands boldly by her convictions of faith, and confidence in Christ, no matter what the world says! She regularly shares the love of Jesus with her friends through social media, in the school’s Outreach Club, and in other peer groups.
As part of her church youth group, Marlee has regularly attended Life Promotions’, Quake events in Pittsburgh, since 2020. She loves and has looked forward to this event each year! In 2025, she decided to write her own song to play during the popular talent show portion of the event. Arriving late due to a regional school band festival, she was still finishing the bridge to her new song, just before the talent show. However, she was able to pull it together, and impressed the staff enough that they extended an invite for her to perform at Lifest 2025! That offer has lit a spark in Marlee, focusing her love for all things music into a drive for writing and singing songs for Jesus.
Along with having an absolute blast at Lifest 2025, Marlee was able to release two of her own songs to all platforms over the summer and has two more currently in production.
She is so excited to be returning to Lifest this summer, and for whatever else God has in store for her next!
